Hocon was amazing; I smelled something odd around our propane fireplace and called Hocon's emergency number. Within 15 minutes, the technician (Shane) called and came to my house. He was very professional, found the leak, identified a cracked connector and replaced it. What a comfort! Thank you Hocon!!

Unfortunately the annual cleaning of our Navien on demand hot water heater went horribly wrong. The cleaning process is supposed to isolate the water heater from plumbing so that the flushing of the sediment remains within a collection bucket. However as you can see from the photo of the hot water in our upstairs bathroom, this was not the case. The Navien cleaning solution with sediment was instead flushed into our plumbing.This is not a normal occurrence. None of the Hocon techs or area manager had ever seen this before. This sent sediment into the hot water side of 3 different fixtures. One had hot water just dribbling out, 2 including our shower had low pressure. Hocon did sent a different, very knowledgeable, tech out the next day. He removed the very clogged faucet and took the hot water side apart where he found a marble sized blockage of sediment. This faucet was just 3 years old. He found similar sediment on the aerator screen in our upstairs sink and in the shower where the aerator screen needed to be replaced - luckily I had this Kohler part available. With Hocon choosing to shut down their Suffield office and to fire all of their techs, one wonders if the botched cleaning wasn't somehow related? I gave 1 star for the cleaning but a 2nd star for the work by this more experienced tech to take apart the faucets/shower head to remove the Navien sediment. Hocon charges over $200 for this "home comfort" cleaning. I do hope that Navien unit itself was cleaned properly. The other 3 times the Navien was cleaned ( by this more experienced tech) there were no issues. Of course it is a business decision to close an office, however with senior management firing the technicians that service the larger Suffield territory, one wonders how this territory can now be serviced in a timely fashion?

Hocon recently installed a ventless gas log system in one of my fireplaces. Karen DePara was my contact person and she was excellent. She evaluated the project, including running a new gas line, and worked with me throughout the process. She even was able to special order the gas log set that I wanted. The installation went well and everything was done according to schedule. Don and Cam, the installers, were very pleasant and worked well with one another. Very professional. I would highly recommend Hocon if you are considering a ventless gas log installation.
