Renaissance Dallas Hotel - Dallas, Texas

I attended a conference in this hotel, just after they began construction, but the staff were fantastic at helping us navigate the changes, and the room was in really good shape. Outside of a little extra walking, and a makeshift restaurant that had some character, all went well. Even Steven the gentleman helping usher the heavy pickup and drop off traffic was friendly and helpful.

Update: this issue has not been resolved. Cameras are not placed in the common spaces in the ballroom areas. We hosted events there - 2 years in a row we had thousands of dollars of gear stolen from the ballroom where only an employee could access. This needs to be resolved asap.

!!Security Concerns!!
The most pressing issue at this property is the ongoing security problems. There have been two documented theft incidents in the past two years, and management's response has been inadequate. When these security breaches were reported, staff appeared indifferent and provided little assistance in resolving the situations. For a hotel of this caliber, such lapses in security and customer service are unacceptable.

Service
While some staff members are professional, there's a noticeable inconsistency in service quality:
- Management seems detached from guest issues
- Security complaints are not handled with appropriate urgency
- Follow-up on reported incidents is minimal

Value for Money
Given the security issues and service problems, the hotel's premium pricing is difficult to justify. While the location and physical amenities are strong selling points, the lack of proper security measures and inadequate staff response to serious concerns significantly diminish the value proposition.

Bottom Line
While the Renaissance Dallas offers a decent location and amenities, the security issues and unhelpful staff response to serious incidents make it difficult to recommend without reservation. Until management addresses these critical concerns, guests might want to consider alternative accommodations in the area.

Want to stay in the worst hotel in Dallas for way too much money? Maybe consider the Renaissance Hotel. Night one our TV did not work. Their rooms have no microwave - when we asked if we could use one anywhere in the lobby the front desk said “NO THERES NONE”. Yeah right! They don’t have ice cream for room service? Seems pretty simple. All staff appear on their phones no matter what time of day. I got a noise complaint for having the radio on my phone too loud - ever heard of that? (The tv didn’t work). I slammed my head after taking a bath due to a design flaw (I was sober). I’m sure the longer I’d stay here the worse it would get. Save yourself the time and forget about this hotel, I sure wish I knew it would be this bad.

The hotel is very nice and clean. They are presently doing some remodeling, so there are long walks to the elevator leading to the guest rooms. The staff members were so friendly, helpful, and personable. The views of Dallas are spectacular! We were there for medical reasons. This hotel was about 5 minutes down a freeway frontage road to UTSW. We made the right decision!

Wonderful stay. Very clean, tidy hotel. The people were extremely professional and inviting.
I would like to highlight one person in particular, her name is Grace. She works in the concierge area. Super professional and personable. As I was waiting outside, she offered me water, asked where I was from asked me how was my stay and wished me a safe flight. Little things go a long way.

Steven was excellent and Randy was great we appreciate your hospitality. He had no problem with providing directions or a helping hand. It's hard to get people eho care about guest and don't mind showing they care about making sure customers are taking care of.

Love this hotel. Clean, beautiful designs with comfortable rooms. Upscale accommodations, beautiful lobby and dining area. Staff were exceptionally kind and we love the bar and chefs. Rosa and Matt were super friendly and just made you happy to be there. Drinks and food were awesome. We'll be staying here again due to cancer treatments at University of Texas, and I feel relieved that we can get room service if we're not feeling well enough to dine in the restaurant. The restaurant manager was so kind to us, she would be sure to tell us they can make food accommodations if we needed it. For being in a big city, I was just amazed how the kitchen staff and bar tenders took the time to make sure we were comfortable. It says a lot about management and the people they hire to care for people coming to this area. Thank you Marriott

I had a great experience with the front desk. Christian was Very accommodating They had a Maintenance issue that had come up on my floor. They immediately move me to a suite every time I was out the door they’re very friendly. The valet was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back.
